Plenty of Time
I’ve been thinking about how to cultivate a sense of abundance. Society trains us to think in scarcity. Ask anyone and they are “so busy.” This sense of “not enough” is good for companies, but terrible for individuals — and more importantly, it is simply not true. We have enough. Enough time, enough resources — I can experience this if I only stop comparing to others. Meditate like the earth - taking all but also giving all. Time is not running out. The present is just as long as it has ever been.
Usually we function with a split between what we want to do and what we’re actually doing, between what we wish we had and what we have. This division creates a loss of time and energy, and that loss actually wears us down. Since the mind wants something other than what’s happening, it creates the delusion that there’s not enough time or that time is running out.
